Thanks to AFCEA DC for inviting me to moderate its Air Force lunch panel today. I greatly enjoyed the conversation with Wanda Jones-Heath, Chief Information Security Officer of the Air Force, and BGEN Kevin Kennedy, Director of Cyberspace Strategy and Policy in the Office of Information Dominance and the Chief Information Officer at the Air Force.
Some notes from the discussion:
BGEN Kennedy: Air Force is focused on building the network we need. Modernization and increasing lethality and readiness are priorities.
Jones-Heath: Goal is cybersecurity that works, not seen as a roadblock. Compliance-based cybersecurity presents challenges; AF can no longer be in that business. Bill Marion challenging team to do things differently.
